Hi, this is Victorio Milian from Creative Chaos Photography.

This photo that I presented at the show was shot in June of 2020. It is at the Queer March for Black Lives Matter and against police brutality.

So, as many people know, because of the coronavirus pandemic, the normal Stonewall March that normally takes place in New York City was cancelled. However, a different group organized the March that was more in line with the roots of Pride which was to really protest against inequality and injustice, specifically within the LGBTQ community, and in the case of the 2020 March, focusing attention on Black Lives Matter and against police brutality.

So, what I really enjoy about this image - which was taking place on Sixth Avenue near West 4th Street in Manhattan - was that, even though this was a protest march at heart, there was a lot of joy and expressiveness and creativity in the air as well. And, as you can see from this image you have a lot of people not only making it clear where they stand around injustice, but also showing an air of celebration as well. So, I was luckily in the right place at the right time to take this photo, and this was the result.

Thank you so much!
