When I started shooting the Movement, after George Floyd killing, I always heard music in the background 'cuz all the marches always had music: from Mahalia Jackson [...] in the 60s, Miriam Makeba singing about freedom and Sam Cooke bringing the Gospel, [bring?] music.

So, when I was in Washington Square Park, and I see this man playing the bass - which is a cool instrument - and he had a fierce expression and a fierce- his mouth was expressing himself, and I thought expressed the rage at the moment. And I thought I should capture that: the fiery open eye, open mouth... man playing a cool instrument as a bass. You know: the *thum-thum-thum* versus a *HA-a-a-ah!*

So, that's what I felt, and that's what I will to be present.
