So, this is one of my favorite photos that I've captured at, ya know, the few protests I've attended this past year.
I feel like it captured a lot of things, one being disconnect: a lot of the people you see in the background behind my subject - guys in the car - they were just passerby-ers; they weren't exactly people walking with the protest or anything. A lot of them were just walking, minding their own business, going about their day as if none of this was happening.
I also feel like it genuinely captures the New York spirit: these guys weren't with the protest themselves; they saw the protest, they stopped at the crowd, got out and showed their support.
It was a really dope experience. It's nice to see joy in these moments, ya know, given what the protests are centered around. It's refreshing to me, to say the least.
